These are some of the trips, workshops, initiatives, artist collaborations and exhibitions that we have embarked on recently. There is more to come...
We are delighted to invite you to this new event, entitled ’50 Picassos’ at Woodbridge School Art Department.
6th February 2019
7pm to 9pm
Picasso exuded skill, fearlessness and innovation; characteristics our artists have in abundance. We will be exhibiting work by 50 artists from Year 11, 12 and 13. In their own way they each break the mould. This is a showcase of ‘up and coming talent’, a must see event and an opportunity to talk with the artists about their work.
DRAWN IN – We ask student artists to demonstrate artistic skills and techniques in lessons (this is a well-established practice in teaching). The other students in the lesson are often even more captivated by this form of demo than if the teacher was leading the session. From the feedback we have had this is because they feel a greater empathy towards the younger artist and the students also know that they could be asked to
demonstrate something next lesson.
DRAWN IN is an ongoing project that seeks
to extend the time scale with which other students can benefit from peer tuition.
We have facilitated the preparation and execution of a number of short drawing tutorials that are now accessible online
from a mobile, tablet and desktop. The inspiration is ready when the student ready. A huge thank you to everyone involved.
